I think it’s fair to say most people consider garden furniture to be primarily for use in spring and summer; the times of the year when the weather is nice enough to allow you to sit outside. Or, as is the case in England, nicer than it is in the other times of the year, so we may as well make the best of it!
However, just because you’re not using your garden furniture as often during the winter months, doesn’t mean you have to store it away. In fact, if you buy high-quality, cast aluminium garden furniture, you can leave it outside all year long without it suffering any weather-induced wear and tear! Unlike plastic furniture that will get batted by the wind and wood that be rot in the damp; decent aluminium garden furniture can easily withstand the wind, rain and snow, handling the extremes of temperature as easily as it handles your own cold little bottom, should you venture to sit outside one evening.
Bearing this in mind, leaving your garden furniture outside over winter means you can actually make use of it as a design-feature of your garden. I can honestly say you’ll find few more beautiful things in an urban environment than a set of snow-covered hand-made cast aluminium furniture – behold:

Aluminium is definitely the way forward in the world of garden furniture!
